The Maine Health Management Coalition is engaged in health policy and health system transformation both in Maine and nationally. Staff members at the Coalition serve on numerous change-oriented organizations, including the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement, the Healthcare Incentives Improvement Institute (HCI3), the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Institute of Medicine, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Families USA and the National Quality Forum.
In addition to its active participation in these organizations , the MHMC has established national partnerships with both the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI), and the New Hampshire Citizen’s Health Initiative (CHI).
The Maine Health Management Coalition is also recognized as a Leapfrog Regional Leader for its participation in The Leapfrog Group’s national initiative to increase the transparency of quality at individual hospitals. The Coalition is the only regional leader to have achieved their 100% participation goal, and according to Leapfrog’s Executive Director, Leah Binder, the Coalition is “leading the nation in performance improvement.”
