"If you want to see the future of health care reform, look at what's happening in Maine. The Coalition's innovative programs for quality and cost measurement, employer and consumer engagement, and health care payment and delivery reform will likely be a model for the nation in how to successfully reduce health care costs and improve the quality of care for citizens."
- Harold Miller, CEO, Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement
In addition to its active participation in NRHI, NBCH, and NQF, MHMC has established
national partnerships with both the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI), and the New Hampshire Citizen’s Health
Initiative (CHI). TDI is a dynamic force within Dartmouth College,
dedicated to improving health care through education, research, policy reform,
leadership improvement, and communication with patients and the public. CHI
brings together a broad range of citizens, businesses, providers and community
agencies. Together they are leading the way to a new era in healthcare where public information
on healthcare is readily available and healthcare practitioners’ are reimbursed
based on their outcomes.
The Maine Health Management Coalition is also a Leapfrog Rollout State, which is a national initiative to increase the transparency of quality at individual hospitals. The Coalition is the only rollout participant to have achieved their 100% participation goal, and according to Leapfrog's Executive Director, Leah Binder, the Coalition is "leading the nation in performance improvement."
